I can hardly contain my excitement! My latest styles arrived yesterday from my manufacturer, and they look beautiful. Eight new plain v-neck colours and eight new patterned v-neck colours. Its not until the garments are actually knitted up that you can see how well the colour combinations work, but I think the latest colours look really exciting.
This production batch has been the fastest produced so far. I bought the yarn on the 6th October before I left for Boston, and the batch arrived yesterday from my manufacturer in Middlesbrough, ready to be sold at the Living North show that I’m doing next week. Talk about fast fashion, I’m not sure many of the larger labels could turn product out with such a short lead time.

This time of year is always manic for me, as you can probably tell from the previous few posts! Not only have I started sampling next winters range, but the busiest selling period for me is in full flow. I try to do alot of direct selling at this time of year, not only to get my name into the public domain, but also it gives me a chance to meet the customer face-to-face, and gives me the opportunity to get valuable feedback from them.

It takes alot of work preparing for these shows, and I just found out that I have a meeting in London the day before my next 3 day event in Newcastle. So the logistics of getting ready are going to be tight.

Oh my God what a mad few weeks I’ve just had. I was just back from my entrepreneurship course at Babson College in Boston USA, when I had to immediately start preparing for a charity fashion show organised by the University of Durham in aid of the Princes Trust. I had a small stand at the event and was selected to show because I recieved funding from the Princes Trust to start-up my business 18 months ago, so I was delighted to get the opportunity to participate.

I had so many little problems trying to get everything ready in time, but when the stand was all set up at the Gala Theatre in the centre of Durham City it looked better than I could have hoped for. I had lots of lovely comments about the collection, and the shows on Friday and Saturday night were spectacular.

I’m waiting to hear how much money was raised over the two nights, but it all goes towards helping start more new businesses in the region.

I’ve been so busy lately that I’ve neglected to blog, but I’m BACK!!

I’ve just returned from Boston USA where I was studying at the worlds number one College for Entrepreneurship – Babson College just outside Boston. The days leading up to my departure were really hectic, as i also was involved in a BBC Midlands TV programme with Image Consultant – Diana Mather who was styling BBC Radio 2’s Janice Long. (Janice is in the pic wearing Tartan)

I wanted to put this pic on here cos I think this lady looks fabulous wearing one of the pieces of knitwear that I designed for my brand Cameron-Addison.

I’m off to participate in a couple of shows in aid of the Princes Trust this coming Friday and Saturday. They supported me when I was starting out so I want to give them something back. I’ve been busy trying to get everything prepared for the show this week, but have had a serioes of minor disasters, but isn’t that what being an entrepreneur is all about – overcoming obstacles?
